Nicola founded the business in September, 1994, initially from her back bedroom at home. Years on, she can regale you with stories from campaigns past… from the Nintendo Wii promotion that surpassed all expectations at a time where Wiis were like gold dust. She finally had to import 300 from southern Spain & have UK plug adaptors & translations of the manuals inserting before shipping on to claimants… through to the 1,000 British hampers that were required depicting indigenous foods from England, Scotland & Wales & the time it took to eradicate the smell in the warehouse emanating from a punctured box of tinned whelks. In her spare time she likes to talk about her intention of going to the gym, her love of fine white wines… oh & she’s also a qualified Paralegal, originating from her fascination for the law & the only woman who loves a good court drama on TV!! (She was devastated when The Good Wife ended).
Joanne has been with the business since 2014 & is all of the cogs of the business relating to the super-efficient running of our main loyalty scheme. Plus, when she has any spare time from this, she runs the marketing & mailings side of the business… not only this but, should you require any help on the home décor front, she’s just qualified as an interior designer &, as her co-workers discovered after her sudden declaration only last week, it seems she’s also a big fan of all things space (she’s seen Armageddon twice), & Tim Peake related (ie. she’s bought, but has yet to read, his autobiography)… she also matches Nic for her love of fine white wines, though they disagree on New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignons.
Neil is as steady & reliable as they come. He runs the warehousing, packing & fulfilment side of the business. If you need an order splitting up to be shipped to every branch or member of the sales force he’s your guy… most of our clients are fascinated by the fact that he lives on a houseboat & the life that entails….…he is generally very outdoorsy & is a man of many modes of transport including trailers, boats, motorbikes & caravans……..oh and he has a sideline business of restoring light bars for commercial vehicles……plus his DIY skills are invaluable to us girlie girls…& he was indispensable during our recent premises move… he can be found during the summer months sitting on his deck with a glass of red enjoying the sunset & local wildlife.
Marcia, although semi-retired now, still helps out when we’re swamped & entertains us with her theories & opinions on………..well everything really. The biggest challenge we face is trying to get a word in edgeways when she’s around – she’s definitely not low on energy though & makes the most mundane of packing jobs fly by.
Jill is our resident Rainman – she takes care of all of the numbers & the accounts side of the business. She’s petite & with an extensive wardrobe of killer heels, but don’t be fooled, she keeps us all in check!
